In collaboration with the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, the National Science Day celebration is being organized on February 18 at Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla under the leadership of the Department of Botany.
With the financial assistance of KSCSTE, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla is the only college in Pathanamthitta district that has been selected to organize Science Day Celebrations at the school level. A drawing competition will be held for upper primary students and a science kit making competition for high school students. The winners will get the opportunity to participate in state level competitions organized by KSCSTE The Science Day celebration will be inaugurated and the keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Achutshankar S. Nair, former Head of the Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Kerala University and President, Sasthravedi. There will also be a speech by Ajay Gopinath, founder of ‘Grow Greens’ and microgreens expert.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the Miyawaki-style ‘Vidyavanam’ at Mar Thoma College on this day.
