🔬 Research at Mar Thoma College
The College has been one among the very first institutions recognized for research by
Mahatma Gandhi University. A number of candidates are engaged as full-time and part-time research scholars in the research departments of the College, namely
English, Economics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
By special permission of the Governing Council, the research departments provide facilities for teachers (research guides) from other institutions also for guiding their research scholars.
Besides individual scholarly projects, the College continuously explores opportunities to link research with extension activities.
Several ongoing minor and major research projects are progressing with financial assistance from UGC, DST, KSCSTE, UBCHEA and other agencies.
Since the establishment of Research Centres in 1987, the College has produced several Ph.Ds across multiple disciplines.
The Comparative Literature Research Study Centre (CLRSC) promotes research in comparative literature, while the Research Forum enhances research temperament among teachers through research-oriented academic programmes.
