29th Annual Lecture – Economics

The Postgraduate and Research Department of Economics, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla has reached yet another milestone in its journey. The Annual Lecture, the prestigious academic event of the Department is in its 29th year. The Department has been conducting this event continously since 1998, when the Department got recognized as a Research Centre of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
The previous lectures were delivered by eminent scholars in Economics both from within India and abroad.
The 29th Annual Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Deepak Johnson K, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. Topic for the lecture is Tracing Profitability in Indian Agriculture: Evidence from Multiple Data Sources.
The lecture will be held at 10.30 am on Wednesday, 25th February 2026 at College Seminar Hall.
Dr. Icy K John, Former Principal, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla will be the moderator.
