സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രവണ്ടി’ (A Science Bus to School)

The Department of Chemistry organized an Extension and Outreach Programme titled “സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രവണ്ടി” (A Science Bus to School) with the aim of promoting scientific awareness and interest among school students. The programme was conducted on 18th November 2025 at Government Technical Higher Secondary School, Krishnapuram.

A team comprising First Year PG Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry students, under the guidance and supervision of faculty members, actively participated as resource persons. The programme included interactive chemistry demonstrations designed using safe and easily available materials to effectively communicate fundamental scientific concepts.

To enhance understanding and engagement, charts, models, and visual aids were utilized. Students were encouraged to actively participate through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and guided hands-on experimental activities. The initiative emphasized experiential learning and aimed at bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and practical scientific applications.

The programme contributed significantly to developing curiosity, improving scientific temperament among school students, and motivating them towards higher education and careers in science. It also strengthened institutional social responsibility and academic collaboration, aligning with UN SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Overall, the programme was successfully implemented and achieved its intended outreach and educational objectives.
