Blood Donation Camp – NCC
On September 4, 2024, the NCC unit of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, organized a blood donation camp to promote the spirit of social service and community welfare. The event aimed to address the critical need for blood donations and encourage students and community members to participate actively.
The camp was inaugurated by Adv. P B Satheesh Kumar,( Member Syndicate, MG University, Kerala) who emphasized the importance of blood donation in saving lives and fostering a spirit of humanity. His address inspired many to contribute to this noble cause. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Ano Lt. Raison Sam Raju, who highlighted the significance of the camp and the collaborative effort with partners such as the Believers Church, Medical College Hospital Thiruvalla, and the People Blood Donation Army. Dr. Mathew Varkey TK, the Principal of the College, delivered the presidential address, commending the initiative and encouraging students to engage in social responsibility. He reinforced the message that donating blood is a vital act of kindness and solidarity. The words of Dr Anuja Jacob, Dr Robin and Fazeela ( Director of People Blood Donation Army) inspired the cadets. Throughout the day, participants donated blood under the supervision of medical professionals from the Medical College Hospital. The camp saw an enthusiastic response from students and faculty, resulting in successful collection of blood. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and a shared commitment to serving the community.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by CQMS Sreya P Nair, who expressed gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and partners for their invaluable contributions to the success of the event. The event not only raised awareness about the importance of blood donation but also contributed significantly to the local blood bank.
