Chat With an Archaeologist
The Department of History organized its most awaited event on the 10th of July, named “Chat With an Archaeologist”. The interactive session cum lecture was organized in the Seminar Hall. The gathering was welcomed by Smt. Kripa Das (Joint Secretary, History Association) and was the meeting was presided over by Prof. Agney GK (President, History Association and Assistant Professor, Department of History). The meeting was inaugurated by our chief guest Sri. Vinu Raj B (Assistant Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India (Trissur Circle). Principal Dr. Icy K John delivered the Principals address. Prof. K M Vishnu Namboodiri (Head, Department of History) also addressed the gathering.
Sri.Vinu Raj B with his natural, humorous and humble lecture explained to the students the nuances of archaeology and how to make it a career option. He also gave his opinion on how to pursue archaeology for higher studies and also provided awareness on the nature of the profession. The lecture was followed by an interactive session. Many students came forward with meaningful queries and doubts to which ‘the archaeologist’ provided his opinions and views. The meeting ended by 4.30, with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Sri. Bonney Thomas (Secretary,History Association).
