
Decoding Women’s Health:From Menstrual Hygeine
The medical Club of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla organised a women’s health class on 26-09-2025 at 2.30 pm. in the Seminar Hall. Dr. Mathew Varkey T K., Principal, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla presided the meeting. The meeting started with a prayer song. Dr. Susan Thomas, member of the medical club welcomed the gathering. Dr. Nimmi Tressa James, Senior Resident, Dept. of Community Medicine, Pushpagiri Medical college Hospital, Tiruvalla conducted a class on “Decoding Women’s Health: From Menstrual Hygiene”. In the session, Resource person Dr. Nimmi Tressa James point out the importance of access to proper sanitation, affordable hygiene products, and accurate information to prevent infections, improve confidence, and enable girls to remain in school and participate fully in society. Good hygiene prevents reproductive tract infections and urinary tract infections.
Doctor advised the students that menstrual hygiene is a right and a critical component of public health, dignity, and development for women and girls. Students actively participated in the discussion. After the class Dr. Sunitha A. Philip, Convenor of Medical Club proposed the vote of thanks and the meeting came to an end by 3.45 pm.
