Friday Market

The much-anticipated Friday Market commenced for this academic year with an inauguration ceremony on August 8, 2025, at the courtyard in front of the department at 12:30pm. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Friday Market Coordinator Lt. Raison Sam Raju, College Principal Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K., Mr. Thomas Koshy (Treasurer, Mar Thoma College), and Association President Mrs. Anju Mariam John. The program was skillfully anchored by Miss Helen Mary Anish of 3rd B.Com (Finance and Taxation). The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Lt. Raison Sam Raju. Sir highlighted the significance of the Friday Market as a platform for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K., the College Principal, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering entrepreneurial skills and teamwork among students. The Friday Market was officially inaugurated by Mr. Thomas Koshy, who expressed his appreciation for the students’ efforts and encouraged them to leverage this platform for learning and innovation. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Davis S. Olickal, the Association Secretary and the inaugural meeting came to an end by 1:15 pm.

The second year B.Com students led the first Friday market after the inauguration. The joint efforts of all of them ensured a diverse range of products and activities, marking a promising start to the first Friday Market of the year.

The students made a total profit of Rs. 915/- and was distributed among the contributors.
