Hands-On Lab

The Department of Physics at Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, organized a one-day training program titled “Hands-On Lab” for higher secondary school students on 19th November 2024. The program was presided over by Dr. Angel Susan Cherian and inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K. The event began with an introductory session on “Physics Education and Career Pathways,” delivered by Dr. I. John Berlin, the convenor of the program, highlighting various career opportunities for Physics graduates. The inaugural session also featured felicitations by Prof. Santhosh Jacob, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Arun Vinod.
Program Highlights
• The Second and Third session focused on explaining Physics concepts through interactive activities and demonstration models.
• A total of 15 practical experiments were discussed and demonstrated, with students receiving hands-on training.
• The sessions were led by faculty members and first-year PG students of the Physics Department.
• 48 students from Government Higher Secondary School, Paipad, participated, accompanied by their Principal, Mr. Sunil M.S.
