Inauguration of Chemistry Association and World Environment Day Celebration

The inauguration of Chemistry Association and Environment Day celebration were held on June 6,
2023, in the Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall at Mar Thoma College in Tiruvalla. Dr. Nebu John, president
of the Chemistry Association, gave a welcome speech. The principle, Dr. Mathew Varkey T. K.,
delivered the message on Environment Day after Dr. Neema Ani Mangalam, HOD, delivered the
presidential address. The program’s chief guest, Prof. P. G. Philip, former faculty in the chemistry
department of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla and a member of the South India Council of OISCA
International, inaugurated the Chemistry Association and gave a speech on "Environment
awareness" during the session. The importance of environmental awareness and the dangers of
pollution were discussed in the discussion. Dr. Reni George served as the moderator of the technical
session. The Chemistry Association was felicitated on the occasion by Dr. Sereen Thomas, the
second DC in-charge, and Dr. Merin Sara Thomas, the second PG in-charge. The second-year PG
student Ms. Ansu Anna Zachariah gave a presentation on the environmental day theme of “Beat plastic pollution”. The Association Secretary, Mr. Bino Binoy, gave the vote of gratitude.
