Independence day celebration – NCC

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, on 15th August 2025. The event was organized by the college in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

The programme commenced at 8:00 AM with the flag hoisting ceremony held in front of the college auditorium. Dr. Mathew Varkey T. K., Principal, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, unfurled the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem, sung in unison by students, staff, and NCC cadets.

Following the formal ceremony, the cadets participated in a campus cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and a “Vishap Rahitha Thiruvalla” (Hunger-Free Tiruvalla) initiative, where they served food to underprivileged individuals. Under the guidance of NCC Officers and ANOs, cadets cleaned the college surroundings, including gardens, pathways, and nearby public areas, promoting values of cleanliness, service, and social responsibility.

The Principal appreciated the efforts of the cadets and encouraged all students to uphold the spirit of freedom by contributing positively to society and serving the nation with dedication.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets and group photographs of the cadets, staff, and faculty members, capturing the spirit of unity and national pride.
