International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

The NSS units and Counselling Centre of Mar Thoma College, in collaboration with KJMTC (Anti-Drug Unit), ANAMS, and the Jeevani Centre for Well-being under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2025. The programme began at 12.45 pm in the College Media Centre with a welcome address by Rikhitha R., Mr. A.V. George, Convenor of the KJMTC Anti-Drug Unit, delivered the introductory remarks. Principal Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K. presided over the function, and the inauguration was done by Adv. Mathew T. Thomas.College psychologist Ms. Janet Mariyam Thomas and NSS Programme Officer Dr. P. J. Varghese offered felicitations. All participants took the anti-drug pledge, followed by the vote of thanks by Alakananda.After the formal session, a magic show and street play delivering strong anti-drug messages were presented. The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Dr. P. J. Varghese, Dr. Anitha George, and Dr. Sreelatha P. V., along with NSS volunteer secretaries.
