International Day against Drug Abuse – NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla in association with Excise Circle Office, Tiruvalla observed International Day against Drug Abuse on 3rd July 2024 at 2 pm in the College Mini-Conference Hall. Dr. Roshan B. Varghese, Chief Medical Officer, Govt. Taluk Hospital, Tiruvalla was the resource person for the programme.
During the talk, various aspects of tobacco, alcohol and narcotic drug abuse, addiction, and dependency were discussed, along with the associated health issues and de-addiction treatments available for affected individuals. Mr. Sikil V, Civil Excise Officer, introduced the primary duties of the Excise Department and highlighted various government-level programmes against drug abuse.
Dr. P.J. Varghese and Dr. Sreelatha P.V., Programme Officers, offered felicitations for the programme. Mr. Aadhil, an NSS volunteer from 2nd DC Economics, welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Anitha George Varghese, Programme Officer, delivered the vote of thanks.
