International Women’s Day 2025 – Women Empowerment Cell

In connection with the observance of International Women’s Day 2025, the Women Empowerment Cell of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, successfully conducted a Legal Awareness Session on 7th March 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Media Centre on the topic “Laws Every Woman Should Know.”

The programme began with a prayer song by Rimi Merin Mathew. This was followed by a welcome speech by Ms. Anu Ann James, Convenor of the Women Empowerment Cell. Dr. Mathew Varkey T K delivered the Principal’s remarks. The session was led by Adv. Steffi Rose Babu, a Lawyer at the Additional District & Sessions Court, Mavelikara, who provided valuable insights into various laws related to women’s safety, workplace rights, and legal protections. The session was interactive, allowing students to ask questions and clarify their doubts. There were 58 participants, including teachers and students, who actively engaged in the session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Jeby Johnson.

The session was highly informative and well-received, successfully fulfilling its objective of spreading legal awareness and empowering women with essential legal knowledge.
