Koodu Project

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, engages in various community service activities, with a notable focus on constructing houses for the poor thereby contributing to the broader goals of social development and community upliftment. This initiative aims to provide shelter and improve the living conditions of underprivileged families in the community. On 18th June 2024, the NSS Unit of the college, in collaboration with the K. Chittilappilly Foundation, donated Rs. 4 lakhs for a house construction project. Recognising the additional challenge faced by the physically challenged beneficiary, Mr. Ratheesh, a resident of Ranni, the Unit also wishes to support the medical needs of the beneficiary. The Programme Officer, Dr. P J Varghese, introduced the aims of the project on the occasion. The College Principal, Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K, handed over the documents to the beneficiary in the presence of the College Treasurer and NSS Programme Officers. The College Treasurer, Mr. Thomas Koshy, acknowledged the efforts of the NSS Unit and extended his best wishes for the project.
