Nobel Talks & Nobel Quiz

The Science Forum and IQAC of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla organized the first edition of “Nobel Talks” and an Interschool Nobel Quiz Competition on 24 October 2025 at the college auditorium. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Josmin P. Jose, Convenor, Science Forum. Dr. Mathew Varkey T. K., Principal, inaugurated the event, and felicitations were offered by Dr. Sonia Anna Zachariah and Mr. Manesh Jacob.
The Nobel Talks featured six sessions by faculty members on the 2024 Nobel Prize themes. Speakers included Dr. Harish R (Medicine), Dr. Noble P. Abraham (Physics), Dr. Surya Philip (Chemistry), Dr. Teena T. Elizabeth (Literature), Dr. K. M. Vishnu Namboodiri (Peace), and Mr. Anoop Koshy George (Economics). Each talk highlighted the laureates’ discoveries and contributions, inspiring students to explore scientific and literary excellence.
The Interschool Nobel Quiz saw participation from 15 teams representing 12 schools across Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Alappuzha districts. Dr. Noble P. Abraham served as the quiz master. Mar Thoma Residential School won the first prize of ₹3000, followed by second and third prizes of ₹2000 and ₹1000 respectively. All participants received certificates. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Roshan Sara Philipose, marking a successful and inspiring academic gathering.
