Prof Thomas Mathew Endowment Seminar 2026

The Postgraduate and Research Department of Botany organised the Prof Thomas Mathew Endowment Seminar 2026 on January 29, 2026, at 10:00 am in the Seminar Hall. Mr Robert Panipilla, a prominent marine researcher and founder of Friends of Marine Life (FML), served as the resource person. The programme included a prayer song, welcome address by Dr Sonia Anna Zachariah, presidential address by Principal Dr Mathew Varkey TK, remarks from Head of Department Mr Renosh Tom Varghese K, felicitation by Prof Thomas Mathew, the main talk by Mr Panipilla, and a vote of thanks by Ms Anju Susan Baiju (II BSc Botany). The seminar enhanced students’ awareness of marine ecosystems, deepened their understanding of traditional and indigenous ecological knowledge, and exposed them to diverse career opportunities in marine science and conservation.
