Science Outreach Programme – Department of Physics

The Department of Physics, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, conducted a Science Outreach Programme on 28 November 2025 at Mar Thoma Syrian Girls HS, Anaprambal, and Titus Mar Thoma HS, Thalavady. The sessions introduced school students to the excitement of Physics through hands-on demonstrations in Optics, Magnetism, Sound, and Waves & Oscillations.

The event aimed to spark scientific curiosity and highlighted emerging career opportunities in fields such as Medical Physics and Material Science.

In both schools, around 100 students and teachers participated enthusiastically, making the programme an engaging and meaningful learning experience.

Dr. Angel Susan Cherian, HoD lead a team of faculty and final year MSc Physics students, who guided the school students through various demonstrations.
