Inauguration of “സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രവണ്ടി” (A Science Bus to School)

The Department of Chemistry organized an extension outreach program titled “സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രവണ്ടി” (A Science Bus to School) to promote scientific curiosity and awareness among school students.It was formally inaugurated on 14th October 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the mini conference hall. The inaugural ceremony began with a welcome address by Dr. Ajesh K. Zachariah, Head of the Department of Chemistry, who warmly greeted the gathering and outlined the objectives of the extension activity.

The session was inaugurated by Dr. Thomas Mathew, Former Head of the Department of Chemistry, who delivered an inspiring keynote address emphasizing the importance of nurturing scientific curiosity among young learners. He highlighted how science education can empower students to think critically and contribute meaningfully to society.

Principal Dr. Mathew Varkey T. K. delivered the presidential remarks, appreciating the department’s innovative initiative and encouraging students to continue such outreach efforts that promote the spirit of scientific learning beyond the college campus.

Following the inaugural address, Dr. Thomas Mathew interacted with the participants, sharing his experiences and motivating them to view science as a tool for exploration and problem-solving.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Merin Sara Thomas, the faculty coordinator of the program, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and volunteers for their valuable contributions to making the event a success.

The inauguration set a positive and motivating tone for the subsequent demonstrations, school visits, and interactive sessions that followed as part of the Science Bus program.
