Swachatha hi seva

The National Cadet Corps unit of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, organized a cleanliness drive under the banner of “Swachhata Hi Seva 2025” at the Revenue Tower, Tiruvalla. The programme aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility among students and the public.

The event was inaugurated by Shri. Prem Krishnan S IAS, District Collector, Pathanamthitta, and graced by the presence of Shri. Sumit Kumar Thakur IAS, Sub Collector, Tiruvalla. The college principal, Dr. Mathew Varkey T.K., delivered the welcome address and encouraged the cadets to uphold the ideals of cleanliness and civic responsibility.

Under the guidance of Lt. Raison Sam Raju (ANO) and Cadet SUO Sachin S, NCC cadets actively participated in cleaning the premises around the Revenue Tower and nearby public areas. The cadets collected waste, segregated recyclable materials, and spread awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

The initiative reflected the NCC’s commitment to community service and aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission. The event concluded with a pledge to continue similar activities in the future, reinforcing the spirit of national service and environmental consciousness.
