Teaching Body Boundaries to Young Children

An online training session on Teaching Body Boundaries to Young Children organised by Centre for Social Action and IQAC was conducted on 10th February 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Google meet platform. The session aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and strategies for educating young children about personal boundaries and safety. The event saw active participation from students, teachers, and social workers, highlighting the relevance of the topic across various sectors.

The session began with a welcome speech by Dr. Sonia Anna Zachariah, IQAC Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of teaching body boundaries.

This was followed by an insightful talk by Ms. Jyothi Ann Mathew, Psychosocial Consultant. She provided a comprehensive overview of age-appropriate ways to discuss body boundaries, the significance of consent, and how to empower children to communicate discomfort. She also shared key strategies to help children recognize and report unsafe situations.

The session then moved into an engaging Question-and-Answer segment, where participants sought clarifications and shared their experiences. The resource person addressed various concerns and provided practical solutions to ensure the effective implementation of boundary education.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Neema Susan Mathews, Faculty Coordinator, CSA, expressing gratitude to the speaker, and participants for making the session a success.
