Vanamahothsavam was celebrated in connection with the Inauguration of the Botany Association (2022-23) of Mar Thoma College Tiruvalla.

The Vanamahothsavamprogram was jointly organized with the Department of Forest, Kerala State and the Department of Botany, Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla.  Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Haby C.K., Assistant Conservator of Forest, Social Forestry Division, Pathanamthitta District. The chief guest addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of afforestation programmes, conservation of biodiversity, the responsibilities and importance of the activities by the student community, especially the students of plant science and other streams of biological science in such endeavors. He also highlighted the importance of expanding and upgrading the conservatory of Rare Endangered and Threatened (RET) plants species of the department.

Mr. Asok A.S., Range Forest Officer, Social Forestry Div, Pathanamthitta District offered felicitation to the activities of the Botany Association for the year 2022-23. He encouraged the college community to continue to offer the voluntary services and sincere efforts adopted for the conservation of Nature.
