Women’s Day Celebration – ELA
The Women’s Day Celebration was held with enthusiasm highlighting the invaluable contributions of women in various spheres of life. The event took place on 07-03-2025 at the portico of the English Department, with the participation of students and faculty members. The program was a heartfelt tribute to the achievements, struggles, and inspirations of women.
The event commenced with a warm welcome, followed by an engaging recitation by Sreelekshmi S. This was followed by an experience-sharing session by Safin Thomas Cherian, who spoke about the women who have influenced him, emphasizing their strength and resilience.
The celebration continued with a melodious solo performance by Christy Wilson, fascinating the audience with a song echoing with Women’s Day’s spirit. Following this, a vibrant dance performance by II DC and II PG students added a cultural touch to the event, celebrating womanhood through expressive movement.
Another recitation by Jiffin Scaria further enriched the program, delivering powerful verses that honoured the essence of women’s empowerment. The second experience-sharing session, presented by Albin George, highlighted the inspirational women who shaped his perspective on life. Then there was a solo performance by Preethi Ann Jose, followed by a moving recitation by Aparna A.
The event concluded with the HOD’s remarks by Dr. Susan Thomas, who highlighted the significance of recognizing and uplifting women from all walks of life. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Remi Cherian George, convenor of the celebrations, who expressed gratitude to all the participants for making the event a success.
