World AIDS day

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units No. 25(A), 25(B) and 510 of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, observed World AIDS Day on 5th December 2025 at 1:00 PM in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized in line with the World AIDS Day theme “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.”
As part of the observance, an awareness session on the topic “What is AIDS and Why is it Relevant to Study?” was conducted. The session was handled by Ms. Alakananda, NSS Volunteer Secretary, who explained the concept of AIDS, its causes, modes of transmission, prevention, and the importance of awareness among college students. The class highlighted the need to remove stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS and emphasized responsible behavior and social commitment.
The programme was organized under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers, with active participation from NSS volunteers. The session was informative and meaningful, contributing to increased awareness and social responsibility among students.
