World Environment Day – Botany

The PG and Research Department of Botany celebrated the World Environment Day, 2025, in association with the Rotary Club, Paippad as a special initiative to promote environmental awareness and cultural heritage. The event featured the handing over of indigenous medicinal plants of ethnobotanical importance to Rotary club of Paippad, marking the initiation of an Ethnobotanic Garden at Mar Thoma Central School, Kaviyoor. Plant saplings if native medicinal plants were collected and distributed. This green initiative is meant to foster the interest of young minds about the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and their ecological significance, while encouraging conservation of native flora.
