Independence Day Celebration 2026

NCC unit of Mar Thoma College celebrated India’s Independence Day with patriotic fervor and active campus participation, combining ceremonial honors with community service.

Independence Day Celebration Highlights

Flag Hoisting & Ceremonial Parade: The proceedings commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Principal Dr. Mathew Varkey T K, who served as the Chief Guest and inspected the ceremonial parade.

Tiranga March: Cadets and faculty joined together in a spirited campus procession carrying the National Flag to honor the nation’s heritage.

Clean MTC Campaign: Demonstrating civic responsibility, NCC cadets concluded the day’s events with a dedicated campus cleaning drive to maintain clean and sustainable college premises.

Thampy Kurian Endowment Fund- Excellence Award

Mr. Thampy Kurien a former student of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla and a resident of 43 Delaney Street, Stow, Massachusetts 01775 USA endowed a corpus amount Rs. 15,000,00 as gratitude to his alma mater. Endowment has been made with the sole aim of promoting meaningful academic pursuit among students thereby enhancing name and fame of Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla among other premier institutions in the country and abroad. Endowment is meant for one student in second or third year of four year UG (Honours) programme or second year of UG degree programme and one student in the second year of any PG programme. The total number of awardees in a year shall be limited to two.
